Biography

Terry n' the front has spent years searching for grooves wherever they may be. Over a decade ago, as young teenagers, the core of the band -- Bassist Charles Newkirk, Guitarist Nicholas Rohde, and Drummer Terry L. Hawkins, Jr. cut their teeth in the huge kenosha punk scene. The band at the time, Captain Cavity & the Lung Bandits (Dead Baby Records), hungered for something with more substance, but took away a big sense of the DIY attitude. From that band was born a power trio, Terry n' the Front. Keeping a Rock n Roll attitude, they started to explore many different styles of music through epic jams. This bled into a very dynamic breed of music. After getting a few shows under their belt, a childhood friend (fresh off of getting a double major in music degree) dug what they were doing and started to come to the jams. Lucas Dickinson began doing horns, keyboards, and samples; adding a whole new dimension to the band. He used his deep music knowledge to take the band from raw, energetic music, to something far more intricate and interesting. The band spent the next few years crafting their immense live shows, playing with bands of all different varieties; learning a little something from each. The band now showcases musical intricacy, strong grooves, unique songwriting, and three singers that pack a full vocal punch. Terry n' the Front is an original band with an inate ability to throw in covers (that they bring a unique TNTF spin to) to craft shows that are accessible to people of all ages
